Tour of Albania, North Macedonia & Kosova

Day 1: Arrival in Tirana

Today you will arrive in Albania, through Tirana airport. Our representative will meet you at the arrivals of Tirana airport and escort you to your hotel, which is located near the center of Tirana.

• Depending on your arrival time, you might do an info meeting with your tour guide.
• Overnight in Tirana.

Day 2: Durres & Berat 

After breakfast we will visit the center of Tirana, next we will drive towards the historical town of Durresi founded in the VII century BC. In the second part of the day we will visit Berat, which is an UNESCO World heritage listed town.

• Visit at the main square f Tirana.
• Visit at the Archaeological museum of Durresi.
• Visit at the II century Roman Amphitheater of Durresi.
• On the way to Berat we will visit a local winery.
• Evening at leisure to explore the ton of Berat on your own.
• Overnight in the old town of Berat.

Day 3: Berat & Apollonia

In the first part of the day we will explore Berat, which is an UNESCO World heritage listed town. We will continue our day with a visit at Ardenica monastery, which is famous for its old Christian Orthodox church of XVIII century. Next we will continue towards the Archaeological park of Apollonia, which started as Greek colony in the VII century BC.

• Visit the IV century BC fortress of Berat.
• Visit at the old XVIII century Christian Orthodox Cathedral of Berat.
• Visit at the Onufri Byzantine Icon’s Gallery.
• Visit at monastery of Ardenica.
• Visit at the main public area of Apollonia Archaeological park.
• Visit at the Archaeological museum of Apollonia.
• In the afternoon we check in the hotel in the town of Vlora.
• Overnight in Vlora.

Day 4: Himara & Saranda

After breakfast we will drive through Llogara National park located at 1.042 meters above sea level. After a short stop at the top of the pass, we will continue our scenic drive through the region of Himara, by the Ionian sea coast.

• Stop at Llogara National park.
• Visit at the XVII century church of Virgin Mary in the village of Dhermi.
• Visit at the old town of Himara located at the fortress overlooking the Ionian sea.
• Visit at the castle of Ali Pasha in the bay of Panormi (also known as Porto Palermo).
• Stop at the springs of Borshi.
• Overnight in Saranda.

Day 5: Butrinti & Blue Eye park

In the first part of the day we will explore the archaeological park of Butrinti which started as Greek colony in the VII century BC, and since 1995 is an UNESCO World Heritage listed site.

After a stop at Ksamili by the sea, we will continue with a visit at Blue Eye natural water springs park. Next we will continue towards the historical town of Gjirokastra, which is our final destination for today.

• Visit Butrinti main Archaeological site.
• Visit at the archaeological museum of Butrinti.
• Visit at Ksamili beach.
• Visit at Blye Eye natural water springs park.
• Afternoon at leisure to explore the old town of Gjiroakstra on your own.
• Overnight in the old town of Gjirokastra.

Day 6: Gjirokastra & Permet

In the first part of the day we will explore the old town of Gjiroastra, which is an UNESCO World Heritage listed town, starting from the XIV century fortress and the old bazaar.

In the second part of the day we drive towards the town of Korca located in the East part of the country.

• Visit at the XIV century fortress of Gjirokastra.
• Visit at the XIX century old bazaar of Gjirokastra.
• Drive through the river valley of Vjosa.
• Stop at the little town of Permet by the river.
• Drive through Germenji national park.
• Afternoon at leisure to explore the town of Korca on your own.
• Overnight in Korca.

Day 7 Korca & Pogradec

In the first part of the day we will explore the town of Korca, well know for its architecture and religious and art-loving people.

In the second part of the day we will visit the town of Pogradec and enter North Macedonia through the south tip of lake Ohrid.

• Visit at the Medieval Art Museum of Korca.
• Visit at the old bazaar of Korca.
• Stop at the town of Pogradec
• Visit at Saint Naum christian orthodox monastery, by lake Ohrid.
• Check in teh accommodation in the old town of Ohrid..
• Overnight in Tirana.

Day 8 Ohrid & Bitola

In the first part of the day we will explore the town of Ohrid, which is an UNESCO World heritage listed town. In the second part of the day we will visit the historical town of Bitola.

• Visit at Perivleptusa Virgin Mary church.
• Vist at the Roman amphitheater.
• Visit at Plaoshnik arcaheological site.
• Walk to Kaneo church by the lake.
• Boat ride back to harbor of Ohrid.
• Drive and visit Heraclea Lincestis, archaeological site.
• Visit the old town of Bitola.
• Overnight in Ohrid.

Day 9: Mavrovo & Tetovo

In the first part of the day we will drive through Mavrovo national park where we will visit the Bigorski Monastery of saint John the Baptist which is one of the best preserved and admired monasteries in North Macedonia. Next we will continue our drive through the national park towards the town of Tetova where we will visit Pasha’s Mosque, which is one of the most beautiful mosques in the Balkans. In the afternoon we will check in the hotel near the center of Skopje.

• Bigorski Monastery of saint John.
• Drive through Mavrovo Natioanl park.
• Visit at the visit Pasha’s Mosque in Tetova.
• Visit the center of Skopje in the afternoon.
• Overnight in Skopje.

Day 10: Skopje & Gracanica

In the first part of the day we will visit the old town of Skopje where the bazaar, the main christian Orthodox cathedral and the famous stone bridge are located.
In the second part of the day we will drive into Kosova, where our first visit will be at Gracanica christian Orthodox monastery which is famous for its colorful frescoes of XIV. In the afternoon we arrive in Prishtina, which is the capital of Koova.

• Visit at Mustafa Pasha mosque.
• Visit at eh old christian orthodox cathedral of Sveti Spa.
• Visit in the old bazaar of Skopje.
• Visit at Plaoshnik archaeological site.
• Visit the Stone Bridge of Skopje.
• Visit at the Monastery of Gracanica.
• Overnight in Prishtina.

Day 11: Decani & Prizren

After breakfast we will we will continue our tour North towards the Monastery of Decani which is an UNESCO World heritage site. Next we will visit the old town of Gjakova. In the afternoon we will explore the historical town of Prizren where we will check in our hotel located in the old part of the town.

• Visit in the Serbian Orthodox Patriarkana of Peja.
• Visit at Decani monastery and church, build in XIV century.
• Visit at “carshia” (old bazaar) of Gjakova.
• Check in the accommodation in the historical part of the town of Prizren.
• Overnight in the old town of Prizren.

Day 12: Shkodra

After breakfast we will explore the town of Prizren. Next we will drive into Albania, towards the North part of the country, where we will visit the town of Shkodra.

• Visit at the center of Prizren.
• Drive towards the town of Shkodra.
• Visit at the IV century BC fortress of Shkodra.
• Visit the old town of Shkodra.
• Overnight in Shkodra

Day 13: Kruja

In the first part of the day we will explore the historical town of Kruja, and drive towards our final destination, Tirana.

• Visit at the XIV century fortress of Kruja.
• Visit at the Ethographic museum of Kruja
• Visit at the old bazaar of Kruja.
• In the afternoon drive to Tirana.
• In the evening we will have our farewell dinner in traditional restaurant in Tirana.
• Overnight in Tirana.

Day 14: Return back home

• Today we will transfer you to Tirana International Airport, wishing you a nice flight back home.
